A: Convention means- Official gathering of members, Education, Recognition, Industry connection, Governance + awards

An expo implies- Vendor-heavy, Booth browsing, Trade show feel

Q: What time does Convention Start?

A: Expo this year starts bright and early with registration starting at 8:30! Breakfast will not be served this year. 

 

Q: Things are new this year, what can I expect?

A: As stewards of our association, we are taking a thoughtful approach to this year's convention by prioritizing educational content and attendee experiences while strategically investing in the future. Some elements of past conventions have been simplified, allowing us to dedicate resources toward creating even greater opportunities and experiences in the years ahead.

 

Q: What is Designer of the Year? 

A: Designer of the year is design competition held every year at expo. Contestants are given a theme to follow and guidelines for your creation. You will assemble your design onsite and will also be given a surprise package. Surprise package includes flowers and containers needed to complete the piece a long with a theme. Winner of Designer of the Year gets bragging rights and a monetary prize. You also are now able to compete in other competitions like California or Arkansas. Those competitions are stickily for people that have already won their states competition. 

 

Q: Is there a designated Hotel? 

A: Marriott Tempe Buttes is a close hotel that most people stay at. Hotels in Phoenix during the summer are discounted, no group code needed!
